The Photograph

Sita (25), a karaoke bar hostess, recently moves in a small attic room. The room is located inside a house-cum-photo studio that belongs to Johan (50), a Chinese-Indonesian travelling photographer. 

Sita also moonlights as a prostitute to pay her debt to Suroso, the pimp who took Sita to the town. One day, she is gang raped by a group of drunken customers and is badly beaten up. Johan comes to rescue her. From there on, Sita decides that she can no longer return to her shady profession. Thus, she offers herself to be Johan’s servant for free, because she cannot pay her rent. 

Sita finds out that Johan has only a few months to live. The fact prompts Sita to help him fulfilling his three wishes, which are represented by three photographs. One of them, the most important and difficult one, is to find his successor as a photographer. 

But fate takes its turn when one day, Johan is enraged because Sita discovers his grim past and finds out the stories behind the three photographs. Having completely lost his mind now, will Johan still be able to find his successor? And having dismissed by Johan, will Sita fall to the trap of Suroso again?
